Gas Systems

Carbon Dioxide

Our carbon dioxide gas systems extinguish fires with no water damage, mess or residue. CO2 is also non-corrosive or conductive, which makes them widely applicable.

CO2 is a colourless, odourless, dry, inert gas and is a naturally occurring gas. After extinguishing a fire it vapourises fully leaving no residue. There is no mess, nothing to clear up, no water damage. It is non-corrosive and will not contaminate foodstuffs. It is non-conductive and so can be used on electrical equipment. It is safely used to protect delicate electrical equipment, antiquities or archive materials.

With the versatility of electrical, pneumatic or mechanical actuation, CO2 systems can be designed to suit any fire hazard, which is why it has been successfully used in a variety of applications including Transformer stations, Paint spray booths, flammable liquid storage areas, Printing presses and other process machinery, Floor voids, Turbines and generators as well as numerous marine applications. CO2 is not advisable in manned areas as it is toxic at the concentrations required to extinguish fire.

Carbon dioxide is a naturally occurring gas and a standard commercial product with many other uses and it is readily available throughout the world. It can be obtained cheaply and this is an important consideration when frequent recharging of storage containers is necessary.

Inergen

IG-541 is a very effective fire extinguishing agent that can be used to protect a wide range of applications and will eliminate fires quickly and effectively. IG-541 – Inergen is a composite gas (52% Nitrogen, 40% Argon, 8% CO2) which is mixed and stored at a pressure of 200 or 300 bar. It is electrically non-conductive, leaves no residue and, at the correct design concentration, is suitable for the protection of occupied areas.

IG-541 is a very effective fire extinguishing agent that can be used to protect a wide range of applications. It is suitable for use on class A (solid combustibles) and class B (flammable liquids) fires, including risks with live electrical equipment.

Almost all fires are extinguished in less than 60 seconds when the oxygen concentration falls below 15%. IG-541 fire suppression systems reduces the oxygen concentration to around 12.5% – a level acceptable to human exposure over short periods of time – thus eliminating the fire quickly and effectively without affecting personnel.

Argonite

We supply IG-55 Argonite gas systems nationwide. IG-55 Aragonite is a very effective fire extinguishing agent that can be used to protect a range of establishments.

IG-55 – Argonite is a composite gas (50% Argon, 50% Nitrogen) which is mixed and stored at a pressure of 200 or 300 bar. It is electrically non-conductive, leaves no residue and, at the correct design concentration, is suitable for the protection of occupied areas.

IG-55 is a very effective fire extinguishing agent that can be used to protect a wide range of applications. It is suitable for use on class A (solid combustibles) and class B (flammable liquids) fires, including risks with live electrical equipment.

Argon and Nitrogen are both naturally occurring gases, which have zero ozone-depletion potential and no atmospheric lifetime. IG-55 is a 50/50 mixture of these two gases and is therefore considered to be an environmentally neutral extinguishing agent.

FM 200

We supply FM-200 gas systems nationwide. FM-200 is a very effective fire extinguishing agent that can be used to protect a wide range of establishments.

HFC-227ea (FM-200) is a compressed gas which is stored as a liquid and dispensed into the hazard area as a clear, odourless and electrically non-conductive vapour that does not obscure vision. It leaves no residue and, at the correct design concentration, is suitable for the protection of occupied areas.

HFC-227ea is a very effective fire extinguishing agent that can be used to protect a wide range of applications. It is suitable for use on class A (solid combustibles) and class B (flammable liquids) fires, including risks with live electrical equipment.

The extinguishing gas works primarily by physically absorbing heat so that the temperature of the flame falls to a point below which it cannot spread. It does not displace oxygen which makes it safe for use in occupied areas.

HFC-227ea has a zero ozone-depletion potential and a short atmospheric lifetime and is therefore considered as an environmentally acceptable extinguishing agent.

Novec

Novec™ 1230 Fluid is an ideal fire prevention choice for environmentally sensitive clients, with the lowest global warming potential of any chemical-based clean agent.

Novec™ 1230 Fluid presents distinct environmental benefits, including a zero Ozone Deletion Factor (ODP) and the lowest Global Warming Potential (GWP) of any chemical based clean agent, key to satisfying demands of environmentally sensitive markets and end-users.

Novec™ 1230 Provides a high safety margin with a 4.2% use concentration and a 10% NOAEL and > 10% LOAEL level.

Listed for hazard temperatures between 0°F and 132°F Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid is engineered to provide a clean, fast, people-safe protection for applications requiring a “green” solution to fire suppression. It is suitable for use on Class A, Class B and Class C fires and extinguishes fire through heat absorption and not oxygen reduction.
